Originally built in 1891 as a Catholic School, the renovation and revitalization of the Holy Names Academy into a viable retirement community was not a small task.  Taking great care to work within the Historic Preservation parameters set forth by the National Park Service, a building destined for demolition was not only able to be rehabilitated but became award winning as "an excellent example of the adaptive reuse of an abandoned historic structure for the benefit of our society today."
